It was the summer of 2013 and we were feeling adventurous. I had been studying abroad in Germany for the past six months and wanted to explore the surrounding countries before heading home to Florence, Italy. With no other plans and our agenda, My girlfriend and I set out on a roadtrip that would take me through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and The Netherlands.
Exploring Germany, the Black Forest and the Romantic Road with a Detour Through the Alps
We started our journey in Germany, exploring the Black Forest and the Romantic Road. We spent days hiking the trails, tasting local food and getting to know the culture. After a few days of exploration, we moved on to Austria and took a detour through the Alps, admiring the beautiful landscape and the quaint villages along the way.
Exploring Switzerland and France
Include a paragraph about stopping in a quaint Paris cafe for some wonderful coffee: Next, we crossed into Switzerland, where we spent a few days taking in the sights of Geneva, Zurich and Lausanne. The scenery was breathtaking. After a few days, we moved on to France. we stopped in the cities of Lyon and Marseille, where we tasted the delicious local cuisine. We also had the opportunity to explore the Mediterranean coastline.
While driving through France, we spent a day in Paris, the City of Lights. We stopped in a quaint cafe for a cup of coffee and to take in the stunning scenery. The coffee was full-bodied and delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. We took a few moments to relax and enjoy the moment before continuing on our journey.
A Perfect End to the Roadtrip: Exploring The Netherlands
Finally, we drove up to The Netherlands. we spent time in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, taking in the unique architecture and beautiful canals. On our last day, we took a boat ride along the canals and watched the sunset over the city. It was the perfect way to end our roadtrip.
Concluding Our Incredible Roadtrip Through Europe
As we drove back to Germany, we thought about all the places we had been and all we had seen. We were so grateful we had taken the opportunity to explore and experience such a diverse region. I'll never forget the memories we made during our roadtrip through Europe!
Until next time,
Michael
